How much ghee you should purchase to get the best deal?
There are 4 main factors to consider when purchasing your ghee to maximize savings, nutrition, and taste:
- Jar size
- Usage
- Shelf life
- Shipping cost.
Once you figure how much you will need, you can figure how best to purchase your ghee figuring in multiple jar purchases and shipping. We offer discounts for multiple jar purchases which can help you keep to your budget as shipping multiple jars together can offer significant savings over shipping each separately.
#1 Jar Size
The larger the jar, the larger the savings. We also offer some volume discounts when you order more than 6 jars. However, ghee tastes best if used within 3 months of opening. It’s best to purchase only as much as you need for a 9-month period of time to maximize the flavor. We make fresh batches of ghee as long as the cows are on pasture and lactating (the Spring through the Fall months). This means you can reorder every few months through the spring and fall to make sure you have the freshest ghee available.
#2 Usage
At the rate of 1 Tablespoon of ghee per day per person, we can figure out how long each size jar will last:
7.8 oz jar
Contains 16 Tablespoons of ghee
Lasts 2 Weeks for 1 Person
Lasts 1 Week for 2 People
14 oz jar
Contains 28 Tablespoons of ghee
Lasts 4 Weeks for 1 Person
Lasts 2 Weeks for 2 People
28.8 oz jar
Contains 58 Tablespoons of ghee
Lasts 8 Weeks for 1 Person
Lasts 4 Weeks for 2 People
If you intend to use ghee for deep frying, we suggest purchasing 1 or more 28.8 oz jars.
#3 Shelf Life
This information applies to all of our ghee products. The shelf life of unopened jar is one year, with or without refrigeration. The shelf life of opened jar is 3 months without refrigeration and one year in the fridge. Even though you could keep it for several years, ghee doesn’t stay completely fresh much longer than one year without the use of preservatives. We don’t use any preservatives in our ghee. In fact, the one and only ingredient in our ghee is milk, with absolutely nothing else added to it.
#4 Shipping Cost
Shipping cost is based on weight of the package and the distance it has to travel. Your orders are shipped from New Jersey, USA. Shipping for multiple items is more economical and often costs only a bit more than shipping a single item. Please see this link for all the shipping details:
