Ingredients
- 20-30 grams astragalus root approximately 15 to 20 small slices
- 1 TBSP dried orange peel
- 2 teaspoons ginger minced
- 1/2 TBSP cinnamon chips
- 1/2 tsp peppercorns, black whole
- 2 cardamom, green pods
- 2 cloves whole

Instructions
Stove-top method
- In a medium sized pot, cover all ingredients with 2½ cups of water.
- Bring to a boil. Then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Strain and serve with milk and honey (if desired).
- Drink within 2 days.
Slow cooker method
- In a slow cooker, cover all ingredients with 2½ cups of water.
- Cook on low, overnight.
- In the morning, if the water level looks low, add more water.
- Strain and serve with milk and honey (if desired).
- Drink within 2 days.
