Wise-Woman Moon Milk with Shatavari Ghee and Fennel
Moon Milk is a soothing, delicious milk-based hot beverage that has its roots in the healing tradition of Ayurveda. It’s useful for deep relaxation and sound rest, and is often taken at bed-time to calm stress and anxiety. Adding medicinal ghee increases the effectiveness and potency of the herb, carrying it deeper into the body. Feel free to adjust the spices as desired.

Ingredients
  • 1-1/4 cups milk or non-dairy alternative
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1/4 tsp green cardamom ground
  • 1/8 tsp turmeric ground
  • 1/8 tsp saffron
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg ground
  • 1 tsp Shatavari Ghee
  • Mishri Indian Sugar or another natural sweetener

Instructions
  1. Pour milk into a saucepan; whisk in fennel, cardamom, turmeric, saffron and nutmeg.
  2. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer gently for 10 minutes.
  3. Strain into a mug; add Shatavari Ghee and Mishri Sugar to taste.
  4. Sprinkle with additional nutmeg to garnish. Enjoy hot!
